I just remembered today why this song means so much to me. I was watching MTV with my husband at the time. The song came on and started playing and was so melancholy and so breathtakingly beautiful I realized I didn't want to be married anymore. It struck a strong chord in me, the kind I can't explain. This song made me strong and courageous enough to get out of a relationship that was bad for me and holding me back in life because I yearned to be as free and as strong and graceful as Peter Murphy running through the woods and open land not afraid of anything. I would never in a million and one years be able to thank Peter Murphy enough for his beautiful song and video that gave me so much strength and courage when I needed it the most. I shudder to think how my life would have turned out if I wasn't in the right place at the right time to see this video play on TV that day. I would still be stuck in that marriage that was so bad for me. The planets aligned that day for me in my universe. Thank you Peter Murphy. My life owes you so much.
